Fishing Destinations

FAQS

Is Moccasin Fly Club an actual club?

We are not a club that requires dues to be paid. We took the old fly fishing “club” vibe and turned into an all inclusive group of any anglers that want to wear our gear, come on our trips, or just talk about the sport we love. Some people say they are “in the club” once they purchase some clothing to “rep the club.” We have a great saying from our founder, “It’s less of a club and more of a fishing addiction shared by any and all anglers that would like to be in our meetings."

What is a "hosted trip?”

When we have a representative of Moccasin Fly Club on your trip making sure things go right….it’s a hosted trip. We offer many dates to certain destinations all over the world with our hosted trips. But we also handle booking trips for corporate events, bachelorette/bachelor parties, family vacations, and just about any other group of anglers that want to enjoy the water. You can let us know certain dates you’d like to book for any destination we offer. You’ll see us talk about our dates for hosted trips but we can also secure any date you need.

What does “book a guide” mean?

When it’s just a day on the water with a guide, this means we will book our network of guides for you to secure a date that you’d like. This happens a lot in CO, NM, WY, FL, and WA. During the summer we book guides all over the country for clients that would like to get in a day on the water during a business trip, vacation, or checking off that trophy fish they have always wanted to net.

What hunting options do you offer?

We have everything from geese and ducks to elk and moose. We have a few states we work with some amazing hunting guides to get our clients on small and big game. Check out the hunting pages for destinations and options.

Do you guide the clients?

We are not guides. We work with guides, lodges, companies, and anyone else that would like to figure out how to book more trips, book a fishing or hunting trip, or need to know intel about a location they are traveling too. We certainly spend a lot of days on the water at our destinations, have visited every location we offer for a trip, and try to be on the water as much as possible in CO, NM, and WY (our home states).

What do you get on a “hosted trip?”

We handle the transportation, lodging, some food, and securing guides/boats for our Moccasin Fly Club hosted trips. Also every angler that attends gets a gift bag from Moccasin with clothing, YETI items, and some other things from our sponsors. The angler that nets the biggest fish on every hosted trip gets a plaque that has become infamous for bragging rights and trip banter. We do offer the “biggest trip” plaque as an add on for custom trips if you’d like that to be part of the event.

How do you secure your spot on a trip?

We can secure your spot with a deposit ($500) to start and within 45 days of the deposit (or 30 days from the trip date) we need the remaining balance. Deposits are non-refundable and we do not hold any spots without a deposit or payment in full. If you are looking to book a custom trip for your group, we require 50% down for the group to secure the dates, lodging, guides, and the remaining 50% of the trip balance is due 90 days from the first payment (or 30 days from the trip date).
